James Smythe continues his heroic effort to read everypublished work by Stephen King. This week he reaches King’s first short story collection – “Night Shift”. Read his thoughts on the book here – Reareading Stephen King: Week 5.
In my own personal opinion, the short story is a medium that King excells at and I’m often surprised that the disciplined, cut to the bone nature of his short story writing doesn’t have more of an impact on his novels which seem to be growing in size to the point where you need to get to the gym and build your arm muscles up in order to be capable of lifting them!
